Archie H.”Tink” Cooper, 94, of Rushville, MO died Thursday, May 12, 2016 at the Gower Convalescent Center, Gower, MO. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Monday, May 16th, 2016 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Champ officiating. The body will be cremated following the service and burial of the cremated remains will be at a later date in the Sugar Creek Cemetery, Rushville, MO. The family will receive friends from 4:00 – 6:00 PM on Sunday, May 15th at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Legion or Ducks Unlimited and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Condolences to the family may be left online at www.beckerdyer.com. Archie was born on September 4, 1921 in Rushville, MO the son of Arch and Dewey (Smith) Cooper. He graduated from Rushville High School in 1939. He served in the United States Marines during World War II. Tink owned and operated the “Tink’s Marine & Sporting Goods Store” in Rushville, retiring in 1986. He was a member of the Rushville Christian Church, the American Legion Post #6, Atchison and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and his children and grandchildren. He was married to Shirley Ann Rathburn on December 13, 1950 in Rushville, MO. Mrs. Cooper survives of the home. Additional survivors include three daughters, Nancy Lorts, Rockwall, TX, Kim (Bill) O’Brien, Midland, MI and Tracy (Todd) Goodlet, DeKalb, MO and five grandchildren. His parents and one sister, Mary Frances Walsh preceded him in death.
