<p>Margaret Mary (Lako) Eckels, 66 of Arcadia, MI passed away while at home surrounded by her family on May 2, 2016. This was “Grammies” third fight against breast cancer. Her quiet courage will be remembered by all. </p><p><br></p><p>She loved spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and step grandchildren, often making crafts and baking cookies. “Maggie’s” interests included cheering on the Detroit Tigers and being supportive, loving, and available to her family and friends whenever needed. </p><p><br></p><p>Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Emerick and Maxine (Pardee) Lako of Fowlerville, MI. She is survived by her husband Richard Eckels, daughter Shelly Rife, son Matthew Rife, sister Mary Lako, brothers Mike (and Donna) Lako, Carl Lako, and James (and Beth) Lako, her grandchildren Zacharry and Hanah Gilbert, Cooper Rife, and great grandchildren Carter, Carley, and Kaelyn. She is also survived by her step children Mark (and Sarah) Eckels, and Melanie (and Mike) Cederholm, step grandchildren Ricky Cederholm, Ryan (and Jennifer) Cederholm, Corey and Amria Eckels, step great grandchildren Acelyn and Gabe, and numerous nieces and nephews. </p><p><br></p><p>Services will be held at the United Methodist Church in Arcadia on Monday, May 9th 2016 at 11 a.m. with Betty Hull officiating. Visitation is at 10 a.m. A luncheon will be served following the service. In lieu of flowers please make donations online to cancer research in her name through “Pedal the Cause” St. Louis.
