PHOTO Ernest A. Dyer Millinocket – Ernest A. Dyer, 87, passed away on Saturday, April 30, 2016 at Katahdin Healthcare in Millinocket, with his stepson Billy by his side. He was born May 8, 1928 in Millinocket, a son of Lottie and Leon Dyer. Ernie worked at the Great Northern Paper Company for 42 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and always had stories to tell about his adventures. Ernie is survived by his son, Carl Dyer; stepson, William Daniell and his wife Carol; grandchildren, Betty Lou, Louis, Sharon, Kelly, Danielle, Susan, Cheryl, Marcy, Billy, Becky, Scott, Angela, Julie, Brad, Brian, Susan, Michael,, and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to his parents, Ernest was predeceased by his wife, Myrtle Newell; children, Susan, Janice, Ernest Jr.; step children, Betty and Thomas; grandchildren, Bobbie, Debbie, Maryann, and Tommy, and brothers, Gerald, Kenneth, and Harold. Graveside services will be held 12 noon on Saturday, May 7 at the Millinocket Cemetery with Francis Megno officiating. Gifts in memory of Ernest may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, P.O. Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462. Arrangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, Millinocket.
