Obituary
Loretta Jean Stoner Gingrich, a resident of Messiah Lifeways, Mechanicsburg, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 27, 2016. Born and raised in Hershey, we rejoice that she has entered eternal rest, and that she is now embracing her heavenly Father’s love so lavishly bestowed upon her. A 1948 graduate of Hershey High School and 1952 graduate of the Philadelphia Bible Institute, Loretta was a valued employee of John Wanamakers and Boscov’s Department Stores. She also assisted her late brother (Charles “Chuck” Stoner) with many of his entrepreneurial endeavors. Loretta was a very giving person, as well as a single mom who sacrificed much for her daughters. She was most happy when shopping and planning for family gatherings. She decorated for parties with her keen eye for detail, than added her very special touch of love. She will be dearly missed. Loretta was predeceased by her parents, Arthur G. and Delia Mathias Stoner; her husband, Jesse L. Gingrich; her faithful companion, Harry Rohacek; and her brother, Charles “Chuck” Stoner. Remaining are her brother, Arthur “Buzzy” Stoner and his wife Merriel; her daughters, Brenda S. Gingrich Strine and husband Brad, and Bonita F. Gingrich Truax Lane and husband Jim; and granddaughters, Allison M. Bentz wife of Brett, and Megan Strine. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at 11 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, with The Rev. Dr. Don M. Hamilton, Lead Pastor of Capital Area Christian Church, Mechanicsburg officiating. Burial will follow with immediate family only.
