MEDWAY – Nicole M. Cox, 42, passed away Tuesday April 26, 2016 at her residence after a courageous battle with HSP. She was born April 29, 1973 at Camp Pendleton, CA, the daughter of Stephen York Sr. and Joyce E. Van Dine. Nicole grew up in East Millinocket and was a member of the class of 1992, Schenck High School. She met her husband Robbie Cox while she was working at Dunkin Donuts in Millinocket and they married on November 28, 2008. She loved fishing, camping, boating, gardening and canning. Nicole was a very pretty, sensitive, caring person who had a quick wit. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents Stephen and Laurie York and Joyce and Butch Smith, she leaves behind her loving husband Robbie Cox, six children; Timothy York, Nicholas Carter, Rebecca McKay and her husband Tyler, Alan Cox, Chelsey Cox, Joshua Cox, seven grandchildren, a brother Jason York and his wife Heather, a brother Donnie “Bubba” York and his wife Nicole, maternal grandmother Betty McLaughlin and her husband Delmont, maternal grandparents, Don and Gloria Hendsbee. She also leaves behind her mother-in-law Patty Cox, brother-in-law Jerry Cox and his wife Kim, sister-in-law Ann Sutherland and her husband Kevin, several nieces and nephews, as well as a special friend Johnny Cibula. She was predeceased by her brother Stephen York Jr., granddaughter Shayna McKay, maternal grandfather Albert Van Dine, paternal grandparents Guy and Josephine York, and her father-in-law Robert Cox Sr. A graveside service will be held 1PM Friday April 29, 2016 at Grindstone Rd. Cemetery, Medway, with the Rev. Reggie Adams officiating. Following the service the family invites relatives and friends for a time of refreshment and remembrance at the First Congregational Church, East Millinocket In lieu of flowers those who wish may make gifts in Nicole’s memory to the American Kidney Foundation.
