Fred DePolis, 91, of New Castle passed away the morning of April 18, 2016 at Golden Hill Nursing Home. Born on April 9, 1925 in New Castle, Fred was the son of the late Lorenzo and Argentina Mucci DePolis. He is preceded in death on September 1, 2006 by his loving and devoted wife of over fifty seven years, the former Stella Capperino whom he married on September 11, 1948.

Fred was a WWII veteran and served his country with the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was a devoted member and longtime usher at St. Vitus Church. He was employed with the United Sates Post Office for over thirty five years retiring as an Assistant Postmaster. Fred enjoyed golfing, bowling and loved the times he spent with his family.

He is survived by his companion, Dolly Mastroianni of New Castle; his two brothers, Albert DePolis and his wife Delores of Las Vegas, NV and Ronald DePolis and his wife Annette of New York, NY; sister–in-law, Nellie Mazzocca of New Castle; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, Fred is preceded in death by his sisters, Gilda Pascarella and Eleanor McCummins.

Visitation is Friday from 4:00PM to 7:00PM at the Ed and Don DeCarbo Funeral Home and Crematory 3000 Wilmington Rd. A procession will leave the funeral home on Saturday at 9:30AM for St. Vitus Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM.

Entombment will take place at Castleview Memorial Gardens.
