Dow McCoy Owens, age 83, of Woodlawn, passed away Wednesday (April 13, 2016) at his home. Born April 21, 1931 in Buchanan County, Virginia, he was a son of the late JDH & Rosa Owens. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. Survivors include wife, Juanita Owens of the home; daughters, Loretta Lynn Laven of Cana, Dorothy Jean Whitaker of Galax and Juanita Irene Boyce of Woodlawn; sons, Delmar Glen Owens of Lebanon, Dowell William Owens of Lebanon and Jessie James Owens of Independence. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 16, 2016 at 12 Noon in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Ketron Memorial Gardens in Lebanon, Virginia. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by VFW Post 9864 of Lebanon, Virginia. Family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 AM to 12 Noon.
