Joan Barker

Joan Utt Barker, 54, of Clarksburg, passed away at 7:39pm, Friday, April 8, 2016 at the United Hospital Center, Bridgeport. She was born in Wetzel County, May 10, 1961, a daughter of the late Shirl Blaine and Bonnie June Swiger Utt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Duey Barker. Surviving are one brother, Carl Utt and his wife Barb, Canton, OH, two sisters, Phyllis Utt and her companion Butch Ramsey, Wilsonburg, Wilma Utt and her companion, Russell Stallman, Bridgeport, her special nephews that she helped raise, Casey, Cameron, and Aaron Barker, and several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Ronnie Utt, Keith Utt, one sister, Brenda Utt, and several aunts and uncles. Joan was a Certified Nursing Assistant and worked in private home care for many years. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, and quilting. She attended the House of Faith in Erie. The family will receive friends at the Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 11am until the time of the service at 1pm, Thursday, April 14, with Pastor Deloris White officiating.
