Olga Mercier Majewski, of Milford, passed away at the age of 81 on April 7, 2016, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Olga is survived by her beloved husband of sixty years, Casimir Majewski, children Jan Majewski and his wife Karen Altieri of Largo, FL, Sonia Dudek of West Haven, Dominique Millard and her husband James of Fort Wayne, IN, and Peter Majewski and his wife Kirsten Carbone of Essex. She is also survived by 5 beloved grandchildren, Spencer and Zachary Millard, Zoe Dudek, and Grace and Claire Majewski. Born in Drummondville, Quebec on December 28, 1934, Olga was the daughter of the late Adrien and Simone Kints Mercier. She held two master's degrees in library science and music and was a University Library Administrator by profession and member of the American Library Association. She was also a gifted concert pianist, private piano teacher and member of the Connecticut State Music Teachers National Association. Olga was also active in both the Polish and French communities. She served as President, officer and member of the Polish Heritage Society and was a member of the Alliance Francais for many years as well. Her greatest passions were her grandchildren and animals, particularly her adored Chico. She will be especially remembered for her love of classical music. Calling hours are Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 4 to 7 pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad Street, Milford. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, April 11th at 10:30 am at Saint Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Avenue, Milford. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
