Betty L Howard

Betty Howard, age 74 of Berea, lost her battle with cancer at her residence with her loving family at her side. Born to McKinley and Susie McIntosh, she was a native of Hazard, Kentucky. Betty was employed by Lens Crafters and Dr. Bizers and was a licensed Optician for over 20 years; she was also a member of Westside Baptist church.

Betty is survived by her husband, Darrell Howard, four daughters, Leveta (Tony) McClellan, Nola (Jeff) Hobbs, Kathy (Joseph) Fegurgur, Angie (Steve) Smith and two sisters, Shirley Hobbs and Hazel Sanchez. Seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren also survive her.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by five brothers, Bill, James, Dennis, Denver and Robert McIntosh, two sisters Ada Wooten, Geraldine Olinger and one granddaughter, Lisa R. Smith.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 8, 2016 at Newnam Funeral Home, 108 Center St., Beattyville, KY at 1 P.M. Burial will follow in the St. Helen Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7th, at Lakes Funeral Home in Berea from 5 to 8 P.M.

Paul Bearers will be: Tony McClellan, Jeff and Richard Hobbs, Kenny and Danny Dunahoo, and Steve Croomer.
