Raymond Allen

Raymond H. Allen, age 73, 1443 Love Station Road, Erwin passed away on Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a son of the late Artie Clyde and Patsy Taylor Allen. Mr. Allen was employed by Hoover Ball for twenty-five years and retired from the Unicoi County Sheriff's Department. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of the Erwin Centennial Masonic Lodge #491 F&AM. Raymond enjoyed restoring and driving old cars. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, Eric Keith Allen; two brothers: Hubert Clyde Allen and Billy Allen. Raymond leaves behind to cherish his memories three sons: Billy Allen, Michael "Moose" Allen both of Erwin, Gregory "Greg" Scott Allen and wife, Anita of Telford; five grandchildren: Lindsey, Hayden, Zack, Dakota and Jacob; one great grandchild, Maddox Cochran. The family will receive friends Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Roger Laws will officiate at the 7:00 P.M. funeral service. Music will be provided by Allan Foster and Inez Chandler. Sons and grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. Committal service will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. in the Evergreen Cemetery. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home by 10:30 A.M. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery.
