Abraham Salyers, of Russell County, VA, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2016. He married Phyllis Patton on December 10, 1960 in Manassas, VA. He was a member of Victory Baptist Church in Nokeville, VA. He was a roofer/tinsmith who owned his own business until his retirement in 1994. Abraham was preceded in death by his parents, Estle Salyers and Mary Lula Cook Salyers; his wife, Phyllis Patton Salyers; brother, Thomas A. Salyers; sisters, Sunset C. Salyers, Beulah M. Salyers Smith, and Dorothy Salyers Smith. Abraham is survived by his sister, Petish Smith and husband Ralph of Catawba, VA; children, Terry Salyers and his wife Karen of Berkley Springs, WV, Mary Matthews and husband James of Winchester, VA, and Gerald Salyers and wife Sandra also of Winchester, and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
