Stella Verine Janis was born on January 15, 1928 in Pine Ridge, SD to Thomas Lays Hard and Jenny High Hawk. Stella passed away on January 31, 2016 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. Stella is survived by her children, Carol Blue Bird, Marlene Kills Warrior, and Rose Fraser all of Kyle, SD; 15 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren.
