Katherine R. Pourier was born on May 12, 1924 in Rockyford, SD to Robert and Bessie (Janis) Brewer. Katherine passed away on January 29, 2016 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD. Katherine is survived by her son, Ernie, and his wife, Pauline (Chasing Hawk) Pourier of Winnebago, NE; daughters, Rene Blue Horse of Pine Ridge, SD and Lois Fraser of Porcupine, SD; brothers, Dick Brewer of Denver, CO and Ernie Brewer of Oklahoma; sister, Pearl White Face of Rapid City, SD; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bessie Brewer; spouse, Batiste Pourier; sons, Wayne Pourier and Dean Pourier; 8 brothers; 2 sisters; and grandsons, Robert Clinchers and Paul Pourier. Vigil Services: Vigil services will start at 3:00 PM, Friday, February 5, 2016 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, SD with Rosary Services starting at 7:00 PM, Friday evening at the School. Katherine will lay in state at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church from midnight until 8:00 AM, Saturday, February 6, 2016.
