Phyllis Ann White Peake, age 69, of Erwin passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2016 at home surrounded by family after a lengthy illness. She was born in Unicoi County on April 8, 1946 and was a lifelong resident of Erwin. Mrs. Peake was a daughter of the late James Wilson White and Julia McInturff White. She was a Christian, loving wife and mother who loved her family dearly. Other than her parents she was preceded in death by three brothers: James White, Jr., Raymond White and Robert J. "Bobby" White; three sisters: Hazel Hodges, Edna Keesee and Helen "Ennis" Finncannon. She leaves behind to cherish her memories husband of forty-nine years, Charles David Peake; one son, Travis Charles Peake and wife, Beth of Jonesborough. Beth was very special to Phyllis; two daughters: Julia Ann Peake Jones and husband, John Steven of Gray; Sandra Jean Peake Ledford and husband, Brian of Johnson City; three granddaughters: Savannah Kate Ledford, Brooklyn Marie Peake and Cadence Ann Peake. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at the Robert Ledford Funeral Home Chapel. Reverend Larry Garland will officiate at the 7:00 P.M. funeral service. Music will be provided by Inez Chandler. A committal service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the mausoleum by 10:45 A.M. Wednesday.
