Evelyn Honeycutt Peake, age 91, Rock Creek Community, Erwin passed away on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at the Unicoi County Memorial Hospital Long Term Care. She was a lifelong resident of Unicoi County and a daughter of the late Dillard and Bell Gibbs Honeycutt. Mrs. Peake was a member of Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, The Pottery Club and Eastern Star. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William C. "Bill" Peake on December 13, 1981; two brothers: Howard and Luther Honeycutt; two sisters: Ruth Davis and Thelma "Sis" Shoun. She leaves behind to cherish her memories one son, Alan Peake and wife, Karen of Unicoi; one daughter, Leisa Oaks and husband, Jerry of Erwin; four grandchildren: Dustin Oaks and wife, Deanna, Olivia Peake, Hunter Oaks and Becca Peake; two great grandchildren: Madison Oaks and Cadence Oaks. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday, January 22, 2016 in the Evergreen Cemetery Mausoleum. Reverend Joan Gandy will officiate. Following the graveside service the family will gather at the Rock Creek Presbyterian Church to celebrate the life and share memories of Evelyn. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent in memory of Evelyn to Rock Creek Presbyterian Church, 800 Rock Creek Road, Erwin, TN 37650.
