Joseph Walling Obituary

Queensbury Joseph Donald “Don” Walling, of Queensbury, passed away on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. He was born on July 5, 1942 in Oxford, NY where he was raised. He was the son of the late Joseph V. and Mary E. Walling. Don graduated from Norwich City Central High School and also from Ithaca College. He taught history in the Fort Edward, NY school system for many years until his retirement. Don was an avid boater which he enjoyed on the Hudson River for many years. He had been a Little League baseball coach and liked to play baseball and basketball with his students and other faculty members. Don liked to discuss politics and current events with his many acquaintances and friends in the local area. He is survived by his cousin Diane Maruszak of Farmville, VA and her sons Gregg Maruszak of Supply, NC and Brett Maruszak of Anacortes, WA. At Don’s request there will be no calling hours or formal services. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations may be made in his memory to American Heart Association, Northeastern Region, 440 New Karner Road, Albany, NY 12205-3890. Arrangements are in the care of the M.B.
