<p>Raymond E. Mellott Sr., 65, of 712 Cleveland Ave., New Castle, died the morning of October 6 at Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh.</p><p><br></p><p>Raymond was the son of Albert &amp; Mary Ruth Coy Mellott Sr. He was born on November 17, 1942 in Chambersburg, Pa.</p><p><br></p><p>He married the former Karen Heckathorn on July 16, 1989. She survives.</p><p><br></p><p>Raymond was a retired custodian at Union High School. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>He was a member of Lighthouse Baptist Church.</p><p><br></p><p>He is survived by his wife Karen, two step daughters; Sara Hollingsworth and Melany Reighert both of New Castle, two sons; Raymond Jr. and Tyler Mellott, both of New Castle and two brothers; Roger Mellott of New Castle and Ronnie Mellott of Edinburg, and three grandchildren.</p><p><br></p><p>He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers; Ross and Albert Mellott Jr. </p><p><br></p><p>Calling hours are Wednesday, October 8, 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory 941 S. Mill St. Services are also on Wednesday, October 8 at 1:00 p.m. at Ed &amp; Don DeCarbo Funeral Home &amp; Crematory 941 S. Mill St. Pastor Brian Lott of Lighthouse Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will take place at Parkside Cemetery.</p>
