Linda Mae Frederick, 59, of Berea, died in Lexington, Kentucky, on January 10, 2016, while in the care of Hospice of the Bluegrass. Although born in Michigan City, Indiana, on January 11, 1956, to Gladys and Ralph Frederick, she became a longtime resident of central Kentucky and lived as a true Kentuckian.

Preceded in death by her parents, she is survived by her son, Matthew Frederick, and his husband, Michael Harrington, both of Berea. She is also survived by her two brothers, Michael Frederick, of Berea, and Randall Frederick, of Los Angeles, California.

After working in telecommunications, she spent nearly 15 years working in health care, primarily providing end-of-life care to Alzheimer's disease and dementia patients, for whom she offered special care and dedication. To honor and celebrate her life, her family, friends and community are gathering at her family home in Berea for an informal reception at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 23, 2016. A short memorial service will take place at the same location at 3:00 p.m.
