Michael Santoianni, of Milford, entered into eternal rest on January 15, 2016. He was born on February 15, 1945 in Bonefro, Campobasso, Italy to the late Joseph and Josephine Santoianni of Scarsdale, NY. He leaves behind his devoted wife, Mary Jane (née Boskello), of 47 years, beloved sons Joseph (Cristina) of Milford and Michael of Monroe and granddaughter Brianna Santoianni, who was the apple of his eye. He is also survived by his brother Dominick (Lynda) Santoianni of Palm Coast, FL and several nieces and nephews. Before retiring, he was employed by the Scarsdale Highway Department in Scarsdale, NY, with 33 years of service, and owned his own landscaping business. An active member of the community, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus in Milford and the Eastchester Italian American Citizens Club in Eastchester, NY. He was a diehard Jets and Yankee fan. Michael will be remembered for his love of gardening and for making a great Sunday gravy. Calling hours are Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 Broad St., Milford from 3:00pm to 8:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 11:00am at Christ the Redeemer, 325 Oronoque Rd, Milford. Entombment will follow in Mt. Saint Peter’s Cemetery in Derby.
