Doris Louise Gouge, age 92, Bailey, NC passed away on Monday, January 11, 2016. She was born March 4, 1923 in Strawn, IL and lived most of her life in Fairbury, IL. Mrs. Gouge moved to Carter County, TN in 1985 after her husband retired from farming. She was a daughter of the late Earl and Flossie Deere Osborne. Mrs. Gouge was a homemaker. She was a member of the First Church Of The Nazarene in Elizabethton, TN.

Other than her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-three years, John Joseph Gouge on April 25, 2003; two brothers and two sisters.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories three sons: John Robert Gouge and wife, Bernice of Bailey, NC; Richard Dean Gouge and wife, Trudie of Marshfield, VT; Ronald Dale Gouge and wife, Bonnie of Lancaster, KY; two daughters: Donna Louise Crane and husband, Ron of LaPorte, IN; Patricia Ray Robinett of Auburndale, FL; fourteen grandchildren, forty-four great grandchildren and twelve great-great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

A graveside service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 14, 2016 in the Gouge Cemetery, Limestone Cove Community, Unicoi. Reverend Rick Shelton will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in memory of Doris to her two grandchildren serving her Lord in missions. Aaron and Kristin Gouge are beginning their journey to Ecuador.
