Brooks, age 80, of Griffin, GA passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at home surrounded by his family.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Brooks was born in Harris County, GA on September 2, 1935. Mr. Brooks served his country in the US Navy and was also a deacon for Calvary Assembly of God. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lizzie Mae Brooks.</p><p><br></p><p>Mr. Brooks is survived by his wife, Mary Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Randy Stewart; sons, Joel Brooks, Mark Brooks and Scott Brooks; grandchildren, Joseph Brooks, John Luke Brooks, Brittany Stokes, Brianna Stokes, Landon Brooks and Caleb Brooks. </p><p><br></p><p>Funeral service for Mr. John T. Brooks will be conducted on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Reverend Ken Vanderford will officiate. Friends may visit the family on Monday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. </p><p><br></p><p>Heritage Funeral Home 1512 Williamson Rd.
