<p>Millinocket – Margaret Edna MacDonald, 93, wife of the late Woodrow “Wow” MacDonald, passed away Sunday, December 13, 2015 at a Millinocket health care facility. She was born January 23, 1922 in Millinocket, the first child of Willis J. and Edna (Knight) Gates.</p><p><br></p><p>Margaret grew up in Millinocket, and attended Stearns High School. She was active in Onawa Chapter #130, O.E.S. in Millinocket, and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, the Philharmonic music club, and was a supporter of the Millinocket Community Library. Many will remember Margaret as the appointment secretary for Dr. Desjardin and Dr. Gilman, as well as her work at the Millinocket Regional Hospital. </p><p><br></p><p>Margaret and Wow were founding members of the Northern Timber Cruisers Snowmobile Club and enjoyed snowmobiling and cross country skiing. She and Wow also spent many summer days at camp. Margaret had a large extended family of nieces and nephews and enjoyed family reunions and cook outs at camp. She will be missed by all.</p><p><br></p><p>Margaret is survived by two sons, Robert MacDonald and his wife Hope, and Woodrow MacDonald and his wife Lynn; two sisters, Frances Grant and Joanne Larlee; a sister in law, Pat Gates; eleven grandchildren, Scott, Lisa, Aaron, Jeffrey, Robert, Valerie, Lisa, Christopher, Trisha, Angela, and Josh; seventeen great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her husband, Margaret was predeceased by two brothers, Willis Gates, Jr., and Robert Gates, and a sister, Joyce Michaud.</p><p><br></p><p>Friends are invited to visit with the family 10 A.M. Saturday, December 19 at the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, Katahdin Avenue, Millinocket, with services beginning at 11 with the Rev. Terry Given, pastor, officiating. Interment will be at the Millinocket Cemetery in the springtime. Gifts in memory of Margaret may be sent to the First Congregational Church of Millinocket, P.O. Box 507, Millinocket, ME 04462, or to the Friends of the Millinocket Community Library, 5 Maine Avenue, Millinocket, ME 04462.</p>
