East Millinocket - Rodney A. Porter, 60, passed away on Dec 12, 2015 after a long battle with brain tumors. He was born Oct 8, 1955. Rod worked at Great Northern for 8 years before finishing his career of 28 years with the B&A/M.M.A. railway. Rod spent his time with his family, cooking, playing his guitar, and enjoying the outdoors. Rod was predeceased by his mother, Esther (Manzo) Porter and sister, Lorelee Crawford. Rod will be missed by many. He is survived by father, Orace "Ozzie" Porter; wife Carrie (Stanley) Porter; son Ryan and wife Angela Porter; daughter Rihana and husband Ryan McGowan; step-son Trapper and wife Michelle White; Grandchildren, Brayden and Aria Porter, Atticus McGowan, and Oliver and Henry White; brother-in-law John Crawford; special niece Nikki Clark; special friends Dana Snowman and Kris Brackett and several neices, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Special thanks to the caring staff at Colonial Healthcare in Lincoln. The family asks that any memorial gifts be made in his name to Lafayette Family Cancer Center, 33 White Hill Road, Brewer Maine. Services will be held in the spring. Arangements are by Lamson Funeral Home, East Millinocket.
