Sharon Elizabeth Beene, 71, of Mexia, passed away November 28, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 30, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Danny Niedecken officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery.<br><br>Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Sunday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home.<br><br>Sharon was born July 19, 1944 in Detroit, Michigan to Herbert Everette Norwood and Margaret Eileen Troutz. She retired from Fairfield ISD after working a number of years as an Educational Paraprofessional, a job that was very dear to her heart.<br><br>Sharon’s love for God, family and others was exemplified in the way she lived her life. Her love for her husband, children and other family members was strong, but everyone knew her grandchildren owned her heart; they came first. Children were Sharon’s passion, she not only loved, but was a great counselor to the children at school as well as those in the church nursery. <br><br>Sharon was not an idle person, she was active in the Mexia Garden Club, President of UMW at First United Methodist Church and Treasurer of Barn Stompers Square Dance Club. She was also an artist, loved to make Santa Clauses, a photographer, a scrapbooker, children’s story teller and author of two books. <br><br>She was preceded in death by her father, Everette Norwood.<br><br>Sharon is survived by her husband, Clifton Don Beene of Mexia; children, Clifton “Donnie” Beene, Jr. and wife, Stacy of McKinney, Sandra Choate and husband, Barry of Athens, Scott Everette Beene and wife, Kim of Big Sandy; grandchildren, Hunter Choate, Peyton Beene, Tanner Choate, McKenna Beene and Brice Beene; her mother, Margaret Eileen Troutz; and numerous friends.<br><br>Pallbearers will be Bill Henderson, Jason Milam, John Hadley, Stephen Beene, Clay Hadley, Tyler Bullard and Cole Hadley.<br><br>Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 203 N. Canton, Mexia, TX 76667.<br><br>
