Alice Holsinger Buchanan

<br>Alice H. Buchanan, 79, of Winchester, died on November 25 at Winchester Medical Center. Funeral services will be held December 1, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at Wesley United Methodist Church in Winchester. Interment will follow at Shenandoah Memorial Park in Winchester, Virginia. <br>She was born on February 1, 1936 in New Market, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Lawrence L. Holsinger and Frances Catherine Strickler. She graduated from Warren County High School in 1955. Mrs. Buchanan has five siblings, Harry W. Holsinger of Sikeston, Missouri, Lowell S. Holsinger of Winchester, Virginia, Carl L. Holsinger of Boyce, Virginia, Betty Gay Bernardo of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Ray Smoot of Alexandria, Virginia. Her four loving daughters, Kimberley Dawn Habel and husband Jim of Stephens City, Shelly Rene Moyer of Martinsburg, West Virginia, Wendy Leigh Lockhart and husband Stacy of Browntown, Virginia and Stephanie Lyn Harrison and husband Clay of Winchester, Virginia, survive her. She was preceded in death by her son Kelly Dwayne Ebersole, one grandson, and one son-in-law. Mrs. Buchanan retired from American Woodmark after twenty plus years. She was also an Avon representative for many years. In 2001 she married the love of her life, Thomas P. Buchanan, although she was only able to spend five short years with him until his passing, the love between them was like no other. Mrs. Buchanan was a member of the Stephens City Women of the Moose Chapter #2134 and a member of Wesley United Methodist Church where she loved spending many hours in the Prayer Group, Game Day, Prayer Shawl Group, and the United Methodist Women. She loved to crochet, play cards and dominoes. She was loved and cherished by all that knew her including 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. <br>The pallbearers will be Brandon El-Shafie, Christopher Moyer, Matthew Alger, Aaron Lockhart, Tony Chiveral, and Roger Smith. Honorary Pallbearers will be Harry Holsinger, Carl Holsinger, Lowell Holsinger, Ray Smoot, Sgt. Devon El-Shafie, Stacy Lockhart, Jim Habel and Clay Harrison. <br>The family will be receiving friends on Monday November 30, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester, Virginia. <br><br><br>
