Myrtle Pearl Flute

On January 11, 1946, Myrtle Pearl Yellow Hawk-Flute was born to Emma Broken Leg and Jacob Yellow Hawk at Parmelee, SD. Myrtle passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK.<br><br>Myrtle met Thompson Flute, Jr. in May of 1968 in Los Angeles, CA where she was attending nursing school, and Thompson was in the Marine Corps. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA. Tom and Myrtle were married on March 13, 1970 in Los Angeles, CA. Myrtle and Tom renewed their vows in Kadoka, SD on July 18, 2000. Myrtle and Tom made their home in Anadarko, OK. Myrtle was always happy to return to the home place in South Dakota; we all called it the country. Her final wish was to be brought back to be with her family. I will keep in my heart all the memories and years we had together, forty five years and eight months. <br><br>Myrtle is survived by her husband, Tom Flute, Jr. of Anadarko, OK; children, Thompson Flute III, Tammy (Kenneth) Moran, Raymond Flute, Benjamin Flute, and Ellen Renee Flute-Onco; sisters, Thelma Mesteth, Betty Decory, and Geri Wilson; brother, Duane Yellow Hark; grandchildren, Judice Tom Flute, Chassity Beth Flute, Johnson T. Flute II, Lyndia Arnelle Flute, Timothy Mato Ishnala Flute, Manuel Onco, Ellyson Morning Star Onco, Daniel “Big D” Onco, Sara Moran, Elizabeth & Emily Moran, Nathaniel Benjamin Flute, Kenneth Moran, Jr., Misun Anderson, and Aden Anderson; great grandchild, Kyah Marie (Keya) Flute, and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, grandkids, and many brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws.<br><br>Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Emma Yellow Hawk; brothers, Tom Yellow Hawk, Sr., William Yellow Hawk, Collins Yellow Hawk, Lavern Yellow Hawk, and Orville Yellow Hawk; maternal grandparents, John and Ellen Yellow Hawk; and paternal grandparents, Charles and Mary (Flood) Little Dog-Broken Leg.<br><br>Myrtle loved all her family, she especially loved and cherished all her grandchildren on both sides of her family and I know everyone will miss her dearly. <br><br>Wake Services: Two night wake services with the first night starting at 12:00 PM, CT, Thursday, November 26, 2015 at the St. Agnes Catholic Church Hall in Parmelee, SD with the second night starting at 12:00 PM, MT at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD on Friday, November 27, 2015<br>Funeral Services: 2:00 PM, Saturday, November 28, 2015 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD<br>Burial Services: Gethsemane Episcopal Church Cemetery, Wanblee, SD<br>Officiating: The Rev. On January 11, 1946, Myrtle Pearl Yellow Hawk-Flute was born to Emma Broken Leg and Jacob Yellow Hawk at Parmelee, SD. Myrtle passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2015 in Oklahoma City, OK.

Myrtle met Thompson Flute, Jr. in May of 1968 in Los Angeles, CA where she was attending nursing school, and Thompson was in the Marine Corps. Stationed at Camp Pendleton, CA.
