Mrs. Carmie Johnson Lowe, age 93, of the Rockhouse Branch section of Vansant, Virginia passed away Thursday (November 19, 2015) in a Grundy, Virginia hospital. Born May 31, 1922 in Buchanan County, Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Perry and Alice Barton Johnson. She was a lifelong resident of Buchanan County and was a loving homemaker and was of the Freewill Baptist faith. A very humble person, she loved everyone she met and she received lots of joy by spending time with her family. She also enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor. She was very special to many and will be greatly missed.<br>In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of fifty-three years, Everett Dallas Lowe; two brothers, Steward Johnson and Cecil Johnson and three sisters, Nannie Ray, Ellen Bostic and Angie Boyd.<br>Survivors include two brothers, Raymond Johnson and wife, Thelma, who was a very special friend to Carmie and Leonard Johnson and wife, Gay both of Vansant, Virginia and one sister, Mary Bell Wood of Vansant, Virginia; special friend and neighbor, JoAnn Ratliff; longtime physician and caring friend, Dr. J.G. Patel; beloved pets and constant companions, Katie, Beady-Eyes and Noah; special in-laws, Sue Meade, Ira Lowe and Bill Lowe and their families; several nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly also survive.<br>Funeral services will be conducted at 11 AM Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Lee Wilson, Rev. Edward Tiller and Rev. Troy Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the Perry Johnson Cemetery on Patton Hess Branch Road near the home. <br>Pallbearers will be Randall Johnson, James Boyd, Joseph Johnson, Doug Johnson, Joe Childress, Otis Johnson, Jr. and Curtis Johnson.<br>Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Ratliff, Kester Wampler, Emory Ratliff, Chris Owens and Dallas Johnson.<br>The family will receive friends at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 PM Saturday.<br>Online condolences may be made at www.honakerfuneralhome.net. <br>
