Pieter Scholte Solomon

Pieter Scholte Solomon, age 49 of Manistee passed away on Saturday November 14, 2015 at home with family by his side.
He was born on November 12, 1966 in Greenock, Scotland, son of EJ and Joan (Scholte) Solomon. Pieter served in the United States Army Special Forces during Operation Desert Strom.
Pieter married Christey VanderVlugt on September 19, 2009 in Marion. He worked at Avon Manufacturing in Cadillac.
Pieter enjoyed Martial Arts, riding his motorcycle and spending time with his family and especially his children. He was a member of the Soul Survivors Brotherhood in Manton.
Pieter is survived by his wife, Christey Solomon of Manistee; mother, Joan Solomon of Greenock, Scotland; son, Andrew Solomon; 3 daughters, Catrina, Baylee and Baylor Solomon; step-daughter, Blair Hogan; 6 siblings, Margaret Solomon, Mary Ellen McShane, Karen Herbison, Jan Solomon all of Scotland, Kim Dodson of Arkansas and Teresa Solomon of Florida; and father and mother-in-law, Kevin and Lisa Sisson of Cadillac.
He is preceded in death by his father, EJ Solomon; and brother, Ernie Joe Solomon.
Cremation has taken place and a celebration of life gathering will be held from 1:00 to 5:00PM on Friday November 20, 2015 at Life House Assembly of God, 1120 W. Division St., Cadillac.
Memorial contributions in memory of Pieter may be directed to the Solomon family for Pieter’s children’s future education.
