Wilburn P. Ridgway

Mr. Wilburn “Pete” Ridgway, age 84, of Hampton, Ga, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Brightmoor Hospice.<br>Mr. Ridgway was born On February 28, 1931 in Atlanta, GA to the late Harry Ridgway and the late Erma Harmon Ridgway of Jackson, GA. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Joyce McDaniel Ridgway, brother, Jack Ridgway and sister, Louise Colwell. Mr. Ridgway was retired from Delta Airlines. He was a longtime member of Hampton First Baptist Church, where he served as Chairman of the Deacons, Deacon, teacher and faithful servant of the Lord. Mr. Ridgway was a volunteer fireman for the City of Hampton and served his country for 10 years in the Army National Guard.<br>Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Elaine Ridgway of Hampton; daughters and son-in-law, Janet Bunn, Vickie and Randy Mantooth of Hampton; grandchildren, Daniel (Kim) Mantooth, Leigh-Ann(Sean) Almas, Katie (Chad) Barnett, Karen (Andy) Daniel, Andrew Bunn, Chad (Jessica) Ridgway, Amy (Zack) Werho, Matthew(Brittany) Bunn, Lora Lee, Rebecca, Caleb, and Jesse Mantooth; 14 great grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, Ed and Dot Ridgway; sister, Dale Hollingsworth; numerous nieces and nephews. <br>A funeral service for Mr. Pete Ridgway will be conducted on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Hampton First Baptist Church. Reverend Craig McAdams will officiate. Interment will follow in Berea Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home in Griffin. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Hampton First Baptist Church Building Fund.<br>
