Obituary

Ruth Christina Pierce (nee Drysdale)
Born on August 13, 1927 in the height of the depression,
Ruth passed away peacefully with her family at her side on November 5, 2015 after a short illness.
Life was always a challenge for Ruth that she bravely and happily met throughout her 88 years. When she was quite young Ruth’s father Alexander passed away leaving Ruth, her Mother Davina and her brother Allan to face the post-depression Toronto.
Ruth was able to finish her matriculation and began her working career as a bank teller where she met her future husband Raymond Pierce.
Together Ruth and Ray raised their 4 children all the while building their first home on Rosemary Drive in Cooksville and starting their first business Pierce Morgan Wood Products. She worked all day and spent her evenings doing bookkeeping and through her hard work helped to build one of Canada’s most successfully awards manufacturers.
Sadly, Ruth was predeceased by 3 of her 4 children Keith, Duncan and Eileen as well as her brother Allan. Even in the face of all this adversity Ruth held the family together with her unconditional love and support.
Ruth is survived by her loving family. Her youngest son Ian, Daughters-in-law Carol (Keith), Jane (Duncan) and son-in-law Rand (Eileen). She is the adored grandmother to Sherry & Bob, Mark & Cindy, Natalie & Chris, Amanda, David, Olivia as well as her great grand-children Missy, Alicia, Jake, Reese and Zachary.
She was very proud of her family and held their welfare well ahead of her own even to her last moments. She will forever be seen as the true definition of strength, love and determination by all she has left behind.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Condolences may be placed at www.skinnerandmiddlebrook.com
