Jack Hampton, born November 1931 to John and Rosetta of Erwin, was raised in a time which for too many now seems so very long ago. With three sisters Evelyn, Sue and Patty; he was the oldest of four boys Lewis, Marvin, Murrel and throughout his life he worked the same land in which he would later raise his family.
He married his wife Virginia Turner in the summer of 1954. Together they raised two children of their own, son Mike K. Hampton and daughter Wendy Hampton Ramsey. Active as a Deacon in his church and neighborhood, Jack let his character speak for his beliefs, a genuine soul with no worldly discontent or distraction within.
Jack's only hobby was to work with his bare hands shaping the land and structures, leaving his imprint for generations to come. As the years passed, his vision faded and health diminished; yet, his will to work, teach & pass on the skills & crafts of his lifetime to his children and grandson Justin Ramsey never yielded. Today was the day he went to the place he always talked about. A lifetime of examples, you have taught us all...
