Hazel Omega Tatum

Hazel Tatum was born in Carthage, Mississippi on May 7, 1943. She went home to be with the Lord on September 29, 2015. Hazel moved to Columbus at the age of three. She graduated from Marion Franklin High School where she played basketball. Upon graduation she worked as a private nurse and was a caretaker that cared for several ill family members. She confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of Triedstone Missionary Baptist Church where she was an active member of the choir and evangelizing the message of Christ . Hazel and several close friends in the Linden area were known throughout the community as prayer warriors and would gather to pray for ones in need and seeking salvation. Hazel favorite things to do in life were reading the bible, cooking and knitting. She was proceeded in death by her father, Percy Wilder; mother, Mattie Wilder; sons, Derrick Tatum and Robert Tatum. She leaves to cherish her memory son, Frankie (Kathy) Tatum; brother, Stanley (Darlene) Wilder, many grand children, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
