Yvonne L. Nye, 58, of Harrisburg and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Monday, September 28, 2015, in the Spring Creek Care Center, with her loving family by her side. Born in Harrisburg on August 23, 1957, she was the daughter of Shirley A. Hoffman Nye of Duncannon and the late Wayne W. Nye. Yvonne was a 1976 graduate of Lower Dauphin High School, Hummelstown; she then trained at the Goodwill Store in Harrisburg. She enjoyed music and would constantly listen to the radio. Yvonne also enjoyed going to concerts at local parks and shopping. She will be deeply missed by her family. In addition to her mother, Yvonne is survived by her brother, Michael W. Nye husband of Lynne L. of Newport; her nephew, Michael Paul Nye; three aunts, Betty, Frankie, and Mary; and one uncle, Bill. A celebration of Yvonne’s life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2015, at 2 PM in the Dellville United Methodist Church, 806 Dellville Road, Duncannon, with The Rev. Kurt Herzberg and The Rev. Don Littleton, officiating. Friends are invited to the visitation in the church on Saturday from 1 PM until time of the services. Inurnment will be in Grand View Memorial Park, Annville, at the convenience of the family. Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown, is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 112 Sipe Avenue, Hummelstown, PA 17036, or to the Cumberland Perry Association for Retarded Citizens, 71 Ashland Avenue, Carlisle, PA 17013.
