James L. Sprandel, 65, of Harrisburg, and formerly of Etters, passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, in the M. S. Hershey Medical Center with his loving family at his side. Born in Moscow, PA, on October 27, 1949, he was the son of the late Edith M. Reynolds Sprandel wife of Henry “Hank” L. Sprandel, and Fred Bartridge. Jim was a semi-retired real estate agent. He was a graduate of Central Dauphin High School and Harrisburg Area Community College. Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member of the YMCA, Harrisburg. Jim was proud to be eight years sober through AA. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and Los Angeles Dodgers fan; and enjoyed playing golf and travel. Jim is survived by one son, Alan J. Sprandel of Severn, MD; his life partner, Sheri Roseberry; one brother, H. Allen Sprandel husband of Laurie of Lebanon; one granddaughter, Aleah P. Sprandel of Middletown; and several nieces and nephews. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday, October 3, 2015 from 10 to 11:30 AM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. A celebration of Jim’s life will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM in the funeral home with Gary V. Wilbert officiating.
