Cheryl C. Johnson Obituary

Cheryl C. “Cee Cee” Johnson was born in Long Branch, New Jersey on December 7, 1944. She was one of six children born to the late John L. and Marian J. Henson. Cheryl attended Long Branch Public Schools and later earned a business certificate. She was baptized at Second Baptist Church, Long Branch, New Jersey by Pastor CP Williams. She married her late husband Theodore Wilson in 1965. In that union her first daughter Stacey was born. Cheryl later married Terry M. Johnson in 1974 and gave birth to Joy and Erica. The family resided in Long Branch, where they raised their children. Cheryl and Terry were married for 40 years. She held a career in bookkeeping at MCAP for five years. She left her position and made a family decision to raise her three daughters full time. Cheryl was very active in the care of her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She took pride in making sure that ‘family’ remained with ‘family’ when it involved the care of the babies. Cheryl always communicated with understanding as her goal and always provided motherly advice. She was a member of the Monmouth County Cotillion Committee, Inc. as a treasurer for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, gardening, sewing, baking and home design. Predeceased by her parents, John L . and Marian J. Henson; she leaves to cherish her memory, husband Terry M. Johnson; daughters Stacey Wilson, Joy Johnson and Erica Samedy; blended children David Brodie and Tiffany Monroe; son in law Malaury Samedy; brothers John and Gregory Henson; sisters Heather Harris, Robin Henson and Maris Henson-Jones; sisters in law Diane Walker, Angeline Henson; brothers in law William Johnson, Edward Harris and Hassan Jones; grandchildren, Kenneth Brown , Brittani Brown, Ashley Brown, Sebastien Samedy, Leila Samedy, Jace Rice and London Samedy; great-grand child Kenneth Brown, Jr. and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 18 from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12 pm at Second Baptist Church, 93 Liberty Street, Long Branch. The burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery in Oceanport. In lieu flowers, donations are requested to the Monmouth County Cotillion Committee, Inc., P.O. Box 489, Neptune, NJ 07754.
