Truman R. Desist, 75, of Lumberport, passed away at 9:45am, Thursday, September 10, 2015 at the Tygart Center, Fairmont. He was born in Hepzibah, August 28, 1940 a son of the late Joe James and Edith Virginia Price Desist. Surviving are two sons, R. T. Desist, Lumberport, John J. Desist, Wadsworth, OH, one grandson, Jacob Richard Nagelski, Lumberport, one brother, William Michael Desist and his wife Shirley, CA, and his former wife and mother of his children, Sharon M. Hall, Wadsworth, OH. Truman was a Vietnam veteran having served with the United States Army. He had been formerly employed by Caterpillar ATS, Machine Shop, CSX Railroad, and TLM in Medina County, OH, from which he retired. He was a member of St. John’s Lodge #24 A.F. & A.M., a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason, with membership in both the Clarksburg and Wheeling Bodies. The family will receive friends at Perine Funeral Home, 1348 S. Pike St., Shinnston, from 2-8pm, Monday where funeral services will held at 11am, Tuesday, September 15, with Pastor Richard Wilson officiating.
