It is with deep sadness that we the family announce the passing of our mother, Doreen Jeanette Abbott, 80 of Lunenburg at the South Shore Regional Hospital , Bridgewater, September 8th, 2015. Born in Feltzen South, November 20th, 1934, to the late Ray and Edith (Knickle) Parks. At the young age of 29, mom was left to raise us 4 young children after losing our father (Capt. Ronald Mosher of the Acadia Seahawk), tragically at sea while fishing off Sable Island in December of 1964 out of the little sea port of Canso, NS. Moving her young family back home in 1965 to begin a new chapter in her life and the lives of her young family. Mom had many old friends to rekindle her friendship with once returning home to Lunenburg. Margarite Lace being one of her longest and dearest friends right up to the end as well as Ronald and Sylvia Mosher of Halifax. As we all know our mother was a very social woman who enjoyed being involved in many activities such as; bowling, curling, Fishermen's Ladies Auxiliary, Meals on Wheels, Craft Festival Committee, Sunday School teacher at Zion, Card club every Monday night, Friday night card parties, and many other activities. Although you didn't see mom in church every Sunday, her faith for her church, Zion Evangelical Lutheran was always in her heart. Left to mourn are daughters, Deanna Zinck, Lunenburg, Sylvia (Jeff) Mouzar, Fredericton, NB and son, Christopher Mosher of Dartmouth; 7 grandchildren, Chad, Todd and Angela Moore, Lindsey Rees, Matthew Mosher, Kelcey and Nicholas Mouzar and 4 great grandchildren, Connor, Julia, Eric and Elijah as well as sister, Anita Schultz of Montreal, QC, son-in-law, Harold Moore, Lunenburg. Besides her parents, mom is predeceased by her husband, Ronald Mosher, daughter, Paulette Moore, brother, George Schultz and son-in-law Dave Zinck. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L Sweeny Funeral Home, 11213, Hwy. #3, Lunenburg, where visitation will take place on Friday from 7 - 9 p.m. with a memorial service to be held on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lunenburg, with Rev. Rick Pryce officiating. Interment will be in Feltzen South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and to S.H.A.I.D Tree Animal Shelter. www.sweenyfuneral home.ca
