Hazel Mary Bossie Obituary

Millinocket- Hazel Mary (Michaud) Bossie, 91, passed away Saturday, August 29, 2015. She was born July 5, 1924 in St. Francis, ME to Regis (Richard) and Georgianna (Ouellette) Michaud in St. Francis, ME. Hazel grew up in a large family on a farm in St. Francis. They did not have much materially, but they always had each other. Through this early influence on her formative years, she developed a strong sense of how important it was to work hard for what you need and to always be there for others that were in need. What she valued the most was her family. She loved them all so much and when one stepped into her home they always felt wanted, loved and accepted. The aroma of fresh homemade bread would embrace you along with a big smile and hug from her. Not only did she enjoy cooking special meals for you but loved to garden, fish and appreciate nature. She is the last of this great family to leave us. We will all miss the gifts we learned to appreciate from them all – their great sense of humor, their hard working ethics, their great musical talent, and their love for all. Hazel is survived by her children, Julia (Michaud) Kunz and husband Jon, Wayne Nightingale and Leo Bosse; grandchildren, Christine (Kunz) Kittani, Jonathan Kunz, Jennifer Kunz, Ashley Nightingale and Misty Nightingale; and many special great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents; siblings, John Michaud, Ella (Michaud) Baker, Addie (Michaud) Larson, Florine (Michaud) Bernier, Wolford Michaud, Delsey Michaud, Charles Michaud, Violet Michaud, Albertine (Michaud) Cyr, Alexina (Michaud) Jones, Edwin Michaud and Jerry Michaud. Friends are invited to visit with family from 6-8pm, Wednesday, September 2 at Lamson Funeral Home, 11 Tamarack St, Millinocket. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11am, Thursday, September 3rd at Christ the Divine Mercy Parish, St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church, 19 Colby St, Millinocket, with Rev Bruce Siket, pastor, presider. Interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery. Gifts in memory of Hazel may be sent to the Katahdin Area Support Group, PO Box 374, Millinocket, ME 04462.
