Jeanne Audrey Horak, age 88, of Orange passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2015 in Milford Hospital. She was born on February 2, 1927 in Brooklyn, NY to the late Stephen and Marion Smith Roland. A long time Orange resident, in her youth, she was a proud member of the Ice Capades. A devoted wife, mother and grandmother, she will be remembered for her great cooking, sewing of costumes and clothes for the children, hosting all the holidays and cherishing her grandchildren. She is the beloved widow of the late Julian “Nupe” Peter Horak, of 51 years, whom she loved and adored. They enjoyed traveling to tropical locations and never missed their Friday night dinner date. Mrs. Horak is survived by her children Rose Maureen Horak and her spouse Annie McCollum of Cummings, MA, Susan Veres of Milford, Donna Mitsock and her husband Mark of Milford, Nancye Stocker and her husband Tom of East Greenwich, RI, Steven Horak of Orange, Mary Jo Greenspun of Milford and Thomas Horak of Boston along with ten beautiful grandchildren. Calling hours are Thursday, September 3, 2015 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at the Smith Funeral Home, 135 N Broad St., Milford. A prayer service will follow at 7:00pm at the funeral home.
