Rebekah Lipscomb Obituary

Mrs. Rebekah Highbaugh Lipscomb, 97, of Como, MS, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2015 at Providence Place Assisted Living in Senatobia, MS. She was born on August 15, 1918 in Franklin, Kentucky to The Late Bess Barnes Highbaugh and Weller Highbaugh. Mrs. Lipscomb was a lifelong member of Como United Methodist Church where she was very active and held numerous leadership positions. She was a founding member of Explorer's Bible Study and served as a past president of the Mississippi Home Demonstration Club. Mrs. Lipscomb is survived by her son, Bobby Lipscomb (Mary) of Como, MS; five grandchildren, Mike Lipscomb (Kelly), Becky Clarke (Bobo), Mark Lipscomb (Shannon), Hays Lipscomb (April) and Lee Wright (Major); fifteen great-grandchildren; and her daughter-in-law, Carla Crockett of Como, MS. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.W. "Buddy" Lipscomb; her parents; two sons, Bill Lipscomb and Lin Lipscomb; and three brothers, David Highbaugh, Jack Highbaugh and Bill Highbaugh. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at 2:30pm in Como United Methodist Church. Immediately following services, the family will receive friends at a reception at 211 Main in Como. Burial will be private at the family's request. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Como United Methodist Church or to the Explorer's Bible Study. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home - Senatobia Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
