Barnett Glenn Triplett, Jr., 78, of Senatobia, MS passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Coldwater, MS. He served as past president of the Senatobia Lions Club and Sycamore Arts Council. He was a graduate of University of Southern Mississippi and University of Mississippi. While attending University of Southern Mississippi, he was president of Kappa Kappa Psi Fraternity. Mr. Triplett retired from Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he served as Director of Bands for 26 years and composed the NWCC Alma Mater and Ranger Fight Song. He was Northwest Alumnus of 1994 and was chosen as Director Emeritus of Northwest Bands in 2011. He also served as Director of Bands for 7 years at Mississippi College in Clinton, MS. During his career Mr. Triplett served as Province Governor for Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity and was awarded the Phi Mu Alpha 2011 Orphesus Award. An accomplished professional musician, composer and educator, he was also as an active adjudicator and clinician throughout MS. Mr. Triplett was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 ½ years, Rebecca Ramsey Triplett of Senatobia; one son, Thomas Jeffrey Triplett and wife, Laura of Arkabutla, MS; two sisters, Shirley Ward of Pontotoc, MS and Constance Davis of Seattle, WA; one brother, Douglas Triplett of Clarksdale, MS and four granddaughters, Madison, Aubrey, Elisabeth and Meg. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Glenn Triplett Endowment, Northwest Mississippi Community College, PO Box 7015, Senatobia, MS 38668. Ray-Nowell Funeral – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.
