Mr. Charles Daniel Swanson October 1, 1959 – August 23, 2015 Mr. Charles Daniel Swanson, age 55, of Griffin, GA passed away Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Atlanta. Charles Daniel Swanson was born in Detroit, Michigan on October 1, 1959, to the late Oscar Charles Swanson and Lois Allie Mae Swanson. He was also preceded in death by his sister Shenell Evans and brother Jerry Smith. He joined Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at an early age. Charles served his country in the U. S. Navy. He attended college and received his degree in electronic technology. He used his degree to serve at J C Penney warehouse for 17 years. In between, Charles “Sir Charles” worked as a DJ for parties and family gatherings. For the past ten years, he worked at Vernay. Charles was united in Holy Matrimony to Setina Williams Swanson. Together, they have four kids, Charles Swanson, Jr., Philandrea Virden, Erica Johnson, and Xzavious Roberts; and one grandchild, Kash Hubbard. He is also survived by his sister Shelia Swanson of Detroit; two special nieces, Christina Evans and Shahagony Barber; one nephew Freddie Evans III (Chico); sisters-in-law, Shirley (Eddie) Williams, Jeannette Taylor, Sammy (Renae) Williams, and Malisia (Anthony) Puckett; and a host of nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Charles Daniel Swanson will be held Friday, August 28, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Heritage Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery. Pastor Claude Franklin will officiate. Friends may visit the family Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
