Janet L. “Jenny” Heimann, 84, of Decatur, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at Swiss Village in Berne. Jenny was born in Adams County on November 20, 1930 to the late Paul F. and Irene I. (McClure) Meyer. On May 19, 1951 she married Arthur J. Heimann; he preceded her in death on September 12, 2008. Jenny was a member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and the Women of St. Mary’s. Surviving are her two sons, Steven A. (Beth) Heimann and James M. (Cindy) Heimann both of Decatur; four daughters, Anne Smith of Decatur, Patricia (Dave) Gebhard of Decatur, Susan Hack of Monroe and Rhonda (Todd) Wetzel of Decatur; three brothers, Jim F. Meyer of Decatur, Jack R. (Shirley) Meyer of Florida and Michael P. (Wendy) Meyer of Las Vegas; sister, Patricia A. Braun of Decatur; 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by a brother, Tom R. Meyer and a sister Carolyn Case. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2015 at Haggard-Sefton & Hirschy Funeral Home, with reciting of the Holy Rosary at 3:30 p.m. Calling also on Saturday, Aug. 29th from 9:00-10:00 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Parish Hall. A 10:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church with Father Jose Panamattathil, V.C. officiating. A private family burial will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Memorials are to St. Vincent DePaul Society and Family Life Care-Hospice.
