Alice M. Vander Veer Alice M. Vander Veer, age 92 of Ludington went to be with her Lord on Saturday, August 22, 2015. Alice had been a resident of Oakview Medical Care Facility and Sutter Living Center for the past eight and one half years. Alice M. Sniegowski was born on June 10, 1923, daughter of the late John F. and Rozalia (Przybysz) Sniegowski. She attended St. Stanislaus Elementary School and St. Simon High School. Alice married Roland E. Vander Veer on May 29, 1948 at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 2000. Alice was a homemaker who lovingly cared for her family. She was a member of St. Simon Catholic Church and a past member of the LuScotCu Travel Trailer Club. She enjoyed camping, spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and even in recent days, she loved to have her family visit her at Oakview, especially the grandchildren and great grandchildren. Alice is survived by her 5 daughters, Sharon (Ron) Muszynski of Manistee, Judy (George) Wagner of Ludington, Cindy (John) Mladucky of Free Soil, Marilyn (Dan) Hunter of Ludington and Diane (Joel) Carter of Ludington; 11 grandchildren, Dr. Mark (Wendy) Muszynski, Karen (Dean) Haldeman, Sara (Josh) Schubert, Dr. Kate (Anthony) Marchelletta, Emily (Kristian) Eckley, Jen (Chris) Tooman, Nick Mladucky, Angela and Jessica Hunter, Tonya Nash and Tori Carter; 11 great-grandchildren, Pearl, Gus and Wally Muszynski, Dalton Haldeman, Penny Schubert, Cole and Luca Marchelletta, Landon Eckley, Noah Tooman and Stephen and Dexter Mathewson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland; 4 brothers, Bernard, Louis, Roger and Tom Sniegowski; 4 sisters, Gertrude Boguszewski, Agatha Kiefer, Clara Phillips and Lorraine Motyka. The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington with Father Wayne Wheeler Celebrant. The family will receive guests for visitation one hour prior to service, as well as on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Oak Grove Funeral Home in Ludington with and evening vigil service at 7:30 PM. Burial will take place at Pere Marquette Catholic Cemetery in Ludington. Memorial contributions in Alice’s name may be directed to Ludington Area Catholic School Education Foundation, Oakview Medical Care Facility, Alzheimer’s Association of Michigan - “Team All For One” or a charity of the donor’s choice.
