Jo Anne Hicks

Jo Anne Hillyard Hicks, of Stephens City, died Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Blue Ridge Hospice Inpatient Care Center. Ms. Hicks was born January 31, 1951 in Winchester; the daughter of the late Edward E. Hillyard, Sr. and Margaret Louise West Hillyard. She had worked for Strasburg Automotive. She was a member of Kernstown United Methodist Church. She is survived by her children Sonya E. Stone of Sparta, WI and Ronald E. Hicks, III of Stephens City; her brothers, Edward E. Hillyard, Jr. of Winchester, Thomas Hillyard of Winchester, Donald Hillyard of Front Royal and David Hillyard of Strasburg; five grandchildren, Dalton Stone, Maggie Stone, Brian Sharp, Ronald T. Hicks and Stella Hicks. She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald T. Hicks, a grandson, Ronald E. Hicks, III and a brother, William “Bobby” Hillyard and her sister in law, Anne Terrell. The family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Aaron W. Fitch officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hebron Cemetery.
