Clarence Honaker

Mr. Clarence Justice Honaker, age 90, of Honaker, Virginia passed away Monday (August 17, 2015) at Maple Grove Health Care Center in Lebanon, Virginia. Born August 16, 1925, he was a son of the late Lester and Pearl Wilson Honaker. A lifelong resident of the area, he was an employee of the Town of Honaker for over fifty years. He had served in the United States Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Margie Honaker; his wife, Vicie Monk Honaker; four step children, Lora Browning, Gladys McGlothlin, Marie Lawson and James Monk; three sisters, Odell Monk, Gaye Bishop, Faye Honaker and one brother, Lawrence Honaker. Survivors include two sisters, Mary Artrip of Abingdon, Virginia and Tressa Gilliam of Kingsport, Tennessee; step-son, Elbert Monk and wife, Goldie of Meadowview, Virginia; step-son-in-law, Bill Lawson of Jacksonville, North Carolina, step-daughter-in-law, Connie Monk of Lebanon, Virginia; special caregivers, Bridgett Sauls and Mary Davis; several step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 7 PM Thursday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gerald Lester officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 2 PM Friday at Russell Memorial Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia with Rev. Katie Miller officiating. Interment will follow. Pallbearers will be employees of the Town of Honaker. The family will receive friends at Honaker Funeral Home from 5 PM- 7 PM Thursday.
