Gary Norman Monroe, Age 62 of Manistee died Friday, August 14, 2015 surrounded by his family at his home. He was born on August 4, 1953 in Jackson, Michigan the son of the late Clarence C. & Joyce E. (Ely) Monroe. He had been employed as a laborer in the construction trades. Gary loved music. He enjoyed playing guitar, singing, and writing music. He also enjoyed building model cars. Survivors include his two daughters; Melody and Harmony Schweitzer of PA and four grandchildren, 2 sisters; Linda (Al) Adamick of Manistee & Marilyn (Frank) Nelson of Wyoming, MI, 2 brothers; Marvin (Helynne) Monroe of Concord and Jack Monore of Manistee, sister-in-law; Wanda Monroe of Manistee and brother-in-law; Ducie McCarley of Adrian, numerous nieces, nephews, & cousins, and his girlfriend; Lorraine Taylor of Manistee. He was also preceded in death by a daughter; Karie Monroe, two sisters; Rosemary Beerbower and Janet Kay McCarley, and two brothers; Kenneth and Ronald Wells Monroe. Memorial Services for Gary N. Monroe will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 AM at Century Terrace in Manistee. Expressions of Sympathy in Gary’s name may be directed to the family is assist with final expenses.
