Sally Hall Obituary

Sally A. Kantz Sutcliffe Hall, 66, of Grantville, and formerly of Hummelstown, passed away Friday, August 14, 2015, in the M.S. Hershey Medical Center with her family by her side. Born in Lebanon on June 4, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Robert A. and Mabel I. Scheib Kantz. Sally retired in 2011 to be with her family and friends, but she always enjoyed the company of her coworkers, greeting the customers, and providing service with a smile and a loving heart. She was a receptionist at Al Romero’s State Farm office in Hummelstown when she retired. Prior to State Farm, she had been a cashier at Wendy’s, a teacher’s aide at U-Gro, a stay at home mom, a secretary at Nationwide Insurance, and a clerk at Hershey Department Store. At each of those jobs, her memories were of the great people she met and how she prided herself in doing the best job she could. Sally was a loving mother, wife, and friend to all. She was a kind, caring and giving woman who touched the lives of many with her cheerful disposition. Sally is survived by her loving husband of eight years, Dennis E. Hall, whom she married on December 31, 2006; three children, Anne E. Sutcliffe of Grantville, John A. Sutcliffe husband of Eva of Hershey, and Mark A. Sutcliffe of Tulsa, OK; a step daughter, Abigail Lance wife of Josh of Greencastle; three sisters, Susan C. Donohue of East Wenatchee, WA, Maureen L. “Mimi” Kantz of East Wenatchee, WA, and Janet Kantz Hagy of Niverville, NY; and three grandchildren, Zion Lance, Saffrin Lance and Evelyn Lance. In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death (widowed) by her first husband, J. Thomas Sutcliffe, Jr. Sally’s life will be celebrated at a service on Friday, August 21, 2015, at 3 PM in the Trefz & Bowser Funeral Home, Inc., 114 West Main Street, Hummelstown. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday from 2 PM until time of the service. To honor Sally’s love of animals, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Helen O. Krause Animal Foundation, Inc., PO Box 311, Mechanicsburg, PA 17055-0311.
