Leona Cotton

Leona Bond Harris Cotton-age 99 of Sharps Chapel, Tennessee, formerly of Boone, North Carolina passed away Saturday, August 15, 2015. She was a member of Oak Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Sharps Chapel and was an active member of the Union County Senior Citizens of Sharps Chapel. Preceded in death by parents, Roy and Roxie (Harrison) Bond; husbands, Morris Harris and Thomas Holland Cotton; brother, Jack Bond; sisters, Edith, Margaret and Louise. Survivors: step-daughter, Joyce Ann Hopkins and husband, Wayne; step-grandchildren, Wayne Hopkins and wife, Christina; step great-grandchildren, Ryan and Melissa Hopkins, all of Sharps Chapel. Several nieces, nephews and a host of friends in the Sharps Chapel, TN community and Boone, North Carolina. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at the Hampton Funeral Service Chapel, Rev. Bud Russell officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Church Cemetery, Boone, NC. The body may be viewed one hour prior to the service. The family will receive friends 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 at Cooke-Campbell Mortuary, Maynardville.
